    China leads as the largest investor in renewable solar energy, investing $126.6 billion in 2017
    China is on a mission to become the next green superpower. Currently the largest investor in renewable energy, China invested a total of $126.6 billion into clean energy in 2017 - a 30% increase from the previous year. Solar is a big part of those investments. In a plan to curb its carbon emissions, by 2020, China plans to generate 110 gigawatts of solar power - enough to power more than 30 million homes. Additionally, China commits to increase the amount of all clean energy to 20% of the current total (about 13%). China has developed several massive solar farms in the past few years, and it seems they are just getting started.
