    Paris goals still ‘long way off’, says President of UN climate conference
    The world is "a long way off" from meeting the goals of the landmark Paris Agreement on Climate Change, the President of the crucial upcoming UN climate conference, COP26, said on Thursday. British politician Alok Sharma was speaking during a global discussion on the 'green' transition in sectors such as energy, transport and food systems, held as part of the 2021 Spring Meetings of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund (IMF). "Oceans are warming, storms are intensifying, and yet we are a long way off meeting the goals of the Paris Agreement", he told the virtual meeting. "Unless we act now, the human, economic and environmental cost will dwarf anything that humanity has seen before."

    The concern from the United Nations (UN) on the slow progress of the green transition is increasing. The Paris Agreement of 2015 set progressive goals for nations worldwide to stop greenhouse gas emissions as global warming continues to advance. Nevertheless, the current results are drastically insufficient. If countries keep using fossil fuels as a source of energy, the consequences will be devastating. Furthermore, nearly 800 million people still do not have access to electricity. Can you imagine the world if all these people have access to energy with the methods we currently use? We know both problems can be solved with the use of True Clean Energy sources. There is an endless supply of clean energy accessible on our planet, the sun alone sends enough energy to the Earth every hour, to power the world for an entire year! Energy will never be free as we will always need equipment and people to operate and manage the systems, but we can make it clean! The world will not end if we stop trading in oil, digging up coal and burning gas…..it will end if we keep using these things.
